Shooting Weddings in your hometown can be a bit too much at times. You have the same venue and the same spots to capture. But as a photographer, you need to see the new opportunities that emerge in the scenery. Especially when it comes to Urben photography, you really need to know how to use the Urban style to get the best shot.
At times people want and insist on taking wedding portraits in the park where there are nature and greenery. which would be ideal in most cases. But here I had to shoot in the urban streets of Brooklyn. and I found that there is so much potential in urban Brooklyn. I mean, ok, it’s not your traditional day-to-day wedding background, and to be honest sometimes it’s a bit difficult to find that exact spot to take that perfect shot. But once you get the hang of it and learn the style of the street it’s so much more fun than what you would imagine!
There I so many elements and different backgrounds that you can choose from that aren’t necessarily the same style but it’s there and as a photographer, you learn how to take advantage of everything around you. Like the stone walls or the way the sun shines between the house in an alleyway, you need to have a vision and capture the moment.
Taking photos for Jewish Weddings in Brooklyn is fun because of those new opportunities for creativity. is what every photographer waits for.

Westbury Manor - New York Jewish Wedding Photography

Location: Westbury Manor
Wedding of Shay & Eli

Now here is a wedding that I will never forget. It was fun and exciting and beautiful for so many reasons.

I will try to make it short since this is a blog post and not a book.

Let's start with… Shay and Eli, the couple. They are an amazing couple and so much fun to work with. they are creative and spirited and amazing people that I am proud to call my friends. In all honesty, this wedding wasn’t the first time I shot this amazing couple. I also happened to take there engagement photoshoot which was an exciting event as well. I realized when I shoot a wedding for a couple that I also did their engagement photoshoot I feel a lot more comfortable to be creative and to take more artistic photos. Knowing them beforehand helped make this photography experience great and also the venue itself was so beautiful (we will get to that soon).

There were a few more things that I would like to point out that made this wedding fun.

For example the outdoor reception.

As a Jewish Wedding photographer, I shoot many weddings in many great and unique locations which are super fun and exciting (especially weddings that are out of New York City when you come to a new place that you never shot before with so many new and exciting opportunities). But I rarely shoot outdoor wedding receptions. It is a great experience to photograph. I can very clearly see that when “city folk” go out and sit in the nature surrounded by greenery they are a lot more chill and relaxed. And I love capturing moments when people are relaxed and happy. It makes the entire wedding photography experience so much more fun.
But let's not get too much off-topic.

The Garden of the Westbury Manor Is extraordinarily awesome for a photographer. There are so many opportunities and so many amazing spots to take epic and different style photos. From the gazebo to the bridge to the trees it's really and beautiful place to take a Couple photoshoot.

I just want to end off saying thank you to Shay and Eli for giving me the privilege to be apart of your wedding and choosing Eliau Piha Studio to capture this beautiful and amazing day of your life.
